Star Wars’ 5 billion dollar merchandising windfall is the gift that keeps on giving for Disney this year – but has the merchandising gotten out of hand?

If you have been outside of your home it’s pretty hard to turn a corner without bumping into R2 and pals marketed on almost every product category this holiday.

Hats off to Disney licensing for keeping up with the requests in time for the premiere (4 days as of the time of this article). Is it too much though? I mean does all of this marketing take away from the appeal of Jedi struggle, or does the dark side of marketing only bolster the excitement?

Eat Grapes You Will.

Never tell me the odds that I’ll have to drink my coffee black.

But perhaps tea is more your speeder’s pace?

After breakfast it’s time to get ready for work and put on your makeup face.

Be careful when driving to work today.

And of course, be sure to farm some moisture and keep hydrated.

You know there are a lot of kids products too, but SNL shows us why it’s universally fun to be a fan:

Maybe Disney and Star Wars Merchandising is getting out of hand, but this is a nine-in-a-lifetime event. There is probably no product that can’t get sucked into the Universe’s tractor beam.
